Tim Robinson continued to be on the attack and struck a four and a six on the first two balls of the third over. Shoriful Islam struck again and picked up his third wicket of the clash on the first ball of the fourth over.
Shoriful Islam has turned the match in Bangladesh’s favour. The left-arm pacer picked up a couple of wickets in the second over and gave only three runs in the over. He dismissed Katene Clarke and Dane Cleaver in the over.
Like New Zealand, Bangladesh started their bowling innings with spin. Mahedi Hasan bowled the first over and was hit for a four by Tim Robinson on the third ball of the over with nine runs coming off the over.
And the first innings is done at Shere Bangla National Stadium. Ben Sears returned to bowl the final over of this rain-curtailed innings. He picked up the remaining two wickets on the first two balls of the 15th over to bowl the hosts out for a score of 102 runs.
Rishad Hossain was dismissed on the first ball of the 15th over thanks to a needless run-out. The spinner was searching for a second run, but a great throw from the deep to the wicketkeeper’s end meant that he was cuaght short of his ground.
Josh Clarkson continues to shine for the Kiwis. The medium pacer returned to bowl his second over of the night and picked up two wickets in the 12th over. He dismissed Towhid Hridoy on the first ball of the over before getting rid of Saiffudin for a golden duck.
Bangladesh lost their fifth wicket of the innings. Ish Sodi got rid of Shamim Hossain, ending his scratchy knock at the crease where he scored three runs off eight balls. Meanwhile on the fourth ball of the over, Mahedi Hasan was adjudged LBW and could have been dismissed for a golden duck if not for a review.
Josh Clarkson came to the attack to bowl the ninth over and straightaway got the big fish. The right-arm medium pacer dismissed Bangladeshi skipper, Litton Das with his second ball of the match. It is a big wicket as the hosts lose their fourth and more importantly Das was looking dangerous before the rain break.
Ish Sodhi came on to complete his over. The right-arm leg-spinner bowled two balls remaining in the seventh over and was hit for a four by Towhid Hridoy.
The revised playing conditions are in as the game has now been reduced to 15 overs per side clash and will being at 4 PM (IST). Meanwhile, Bangladesh have scored 50 runs for the loss of three wickets in 6.4 overs.
