In case, you dont know how the qualifying race works, here’s a quck guide for you. It’s the race that takes place a day before the Grand Prix. It decides the starting order for the race on Sunday. The faster you are in qualifying, the higher up you start on the grid, and that can make a huge difference. There are three qualifying sessions:
- Q1 (18 minutes): All 22 cars take part. At the end, the slowest 6 drivers are knocked out and will start from 17th to 22nd.
- Q2 (15 minutes): The remaining 16 cars go again. Another 6 drivers are eliminated, setting the grid from 11th to 16th.
- Q3 (13 minutes): The top 10 drivers battle it out for pole position, pushing for the fastest lap.
However, for this weekend specially, the FIA has tweaked a techinal rule, check in the next update.
