India Weather Today (10 May, 2026) Live: As heatwave conditions tighten their grip across several parts of India, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued fresh weather alerts for multiple cities including Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Ahmedabad, and other major cities on May 10, 2026.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a heatwave warning for Delhi, where temperatures may rise above 42 degrees Celsius which will make it one of the hottest days of the season so far. However, Delhi has been experiencing rough weather for the past few days.
Gusty winds, heavy rain, and hailstorms captured the national capital, giving people relief from scorching heat.
Not only Delhi but also Mumbai and Hyderabad are likely to witness a heatwave as the temperature may rise up to 42 degrees in the major cities.
The heat in India is set to intensify over the next few days as the temperature more likely to climb to 37 degrees on May 10, 2026 and as high as 46 degrees by late next week.
On May 10 IMD issued a heatwave alerts for 9 May 2026, Saturday in its latest press release for states including Gujarat, Rajasthan, and Delhi. Meanwhile, the remaining 17 states including Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Jharkhand have a high possibility of witnessing thunderstorms and rain where strong winds can blow at a speed of 30-50 kilometers per hour.
The weather change in major cities is turning it from hot and dry weather to cool and breezy within a short time, making outdoor conditions better. The streets which had been heated by direct sunlight, started to cool down while the residents found the atmosphere more comfortable.
A fresh but weak Western Disturbance is set to bring dust storms, light rain, and thundershowers to Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, and parts of Uttar Pradesh over the next few days.
According to IMD, isolated hailstorms are likely to hit Jammu & Kashmir on 11-12 May, followed by Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand on 12-13 May.
Chennai is expecting light to moderate rain and thunderstorms on May 10, 2026 ahead of the RCB vs MI IPL Match. The IMD has issued a heavy rainfall warning for the city and neighbouring districts triggered by a cyclonic circulation over the Gulf of Mannar.
On May 10, 2026, Bangalore is experiencing cloudy with a maximum temperature of 34 degrees. There is a 10%-20% chance of light intermittent rain or thunder in the evening and night.
The IMD warned of a strong possibility of heatwave conditions in some parts of western Rajasthan over the next five to six days. In Jaipur, the Met Dept said, both minimum and maximum temperatures are likely to increase by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius in most parts of the state over the next few days.
Mumbai will experience isolated light to moderate rain accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds with speeds of 40 to 50 kmph on Sunday.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted a fresh spell of thunderstorms over Northwest India from Monday 11 May onwards. According to reports, it may bring isolated light rainfall to the northern plains which could affect Punjab, Haryana, and Chandigarh from 11 May 2026 to 14 May 2026. This may also bring rain across Uttar Pradesh between 12 May to 14 May 2026.
