GOOOAL!! NorthEast score!! It’s Rinzuala who nets it in! The KBFC keeper came off his line to clear it with it head but unfortunately fell to the NEUFC player, who’s long shot hit the bar and the onrushing Rizuala didn’t fail to tap it in from close range! 

Just 8 minutes of regulation time left in the game as Kerala still hold onto that own-goal lead. Can NEUFC make a comeback? Or will KBFC make it back-to-back wins? 

CHANCE FOR KERALA! It just goes wide!! Franchu at the edge of the penalty box skipped past defenders with ease and almost found the net from his right-footed curler!

We are back for the second-half and NEUFC press men forward to get the equaliser! As we speak, Kerala Blasters miss an absolute sitter!! Kevin Yoke was through on goal and only had the keeper to beat, but his shot got a little touch from the keeper and eventually went off the post!

That’s it! Kerala Blasters took a 1-0 lead into half-time against NorthEast United, courtesy of an unfortunate own goal by Andry Rodriguez. The goal came after a bicycle-kick attempt from Fallou caused a deflection that ended up in the net.

Despite trailing, NorthEast United created the better chances in the first half and will feel disappointed not to have found the equaliser. The Blasters, however, capitalised at the right moment to gain the advantage, setting up an exciting second half.

GOOOAL!! Kerala take the lead!! It’s an own-goal but Fallou did well with the bicycle kick that took the last touch from the NEUFC defender and the home side just before the break take an important lead! There were some protests from the NEUFC management and players regarding the goal, which led to number of yellow cards and now things are back to normalcy. The touch came from Andy Rodriguez. 

NorthEast keep on troubling Kerala from the right flank as dangerous deliveries keep on coming into the penalty box. It just need a good touch to break the deadlock and this is something the visitors are lacking tonight. 

We’ve gone past the 30th minute mark in the game and both sides are yet to get their scorers on the scoresheet. Not the best of games, but it keeps the fans on the edge of their seats for sure. 

Parthib Gogoi has a crack from inside the box and his weak shot did manage to beat the keeper but ailed to find the target. 

It’s locked at 0-0 here in Kochi. NEUFC so far had the better chances but Kerala also had their moments to generate and take advantage but the back-line of both the teams have been compact. We are yet see either of the sides to test the keeper properly tonight. 

Kerala did create a chance from a volley hit from inside the penalty box! This comes up with cheers from the home side. As we speak, the Kerala No. 7 was on a one-on-one battle with NEUFC’s lone defender but a shoulder-to-shoulder tackle denied a glorious chance. This is perhaps Kerala’s best chance so far. They are also now moving the ball well. 

NorthEast United have so far created the most number of chances. They are constantly using the flanks and are delivering dangerous crosses to put the KBFC defenders on the backfoot. Apart from that, they are also seeing more of the ball as well. 

5 minutes into the game and both the sides are trying to move the ball forward with an aim to generate an opening. Nothing significant so far.

Right now, neither Kerala Blasters nor NorthEast United have any major injuries or suspensions that would keep them from playing in the important match. This means that Ashley Westwood and Juan Pedro Benali can use their best players.

The competition between Kerala Blasters FC and NorthEast United FC has been very close over the years. NorthEast United has won 6 of the 24 times they have played Kerala Blasters, who have won 9. The other nine games ended in ties, which shows that these teams have often been very evenly matched. Kerala Blasters are in a good mood after beating Bengaluru FC in a tough match. The victory gave them some important points in their quest to climb the table. They are still in 13th place, but the win has given them some space from the relegation zone and made the players and coaches feel better.

The Blasters will see this home game as a great chance to keep getting better with Ashley Westwood as their coach. They are getting better at both defence and offence, especially when the pressure is on, as shown by their last few games.
