According to the IMD, continuous cloud cover has prevailed since morning due to a low-pressure trough extending from Bihar to Manipur, passing through North Bengal, Assam and Bangladesh.

The department has indicated that the region is set to experience another spell of Kalbaishakhi activity, with thunderstorms and the possibility of hail likely from Sunday to Thursday. Rainfall is expected to become more widespread and intense, reaching its peak around Tuesday and Wednesday.

The seasonal Kalbaishakhi storms are expected to sweep through Kolkata between April 5 and April 9. While these storms have provided much-needed respite from the intense heat across the city, they could spell trouble for Kolkata Knight Riders. The team’s upcoming clash against Lucknow Super Giants is now under threat due to the unpredictable weather conditions.

On Sunday, persistent light rain disrupted the practice sessions of both sides, preventing them from preparing as planned. However, there is some relief in sight, as weather forecasts indicate improved conditions for Monday, raising hopes that the match could proceed without major interruptions.
