The Central Board of Secondary Education is expected to declare the Class 12 results 2026 soon. Following the announcement, the board will release detailed information regarding the CBSE Class 12 compartment exams.

These exams are conducted for students who wish to improve their scores or have been placed in the compartment category. The application process for the CBSE 12th compartment exams 2026 will be made available on the official website.

Students will need to log in using their credentials, fill out the application form, and submit it within the specified deadline. It is important for candidates to keep track of official notifications to avoid missing key dates.

The faster, technology-based evaluation process may impact the CBSE Class 12 result 2026 declaration date.

The introduction of digital/on-screen marking has accelerated the evaluation process this year than before.

Still, accuracy and consistency of evaluation are the central priorities of the Central Board of Secondary Education. 

But, there might not be any change in the board in compromising the thoroughness of the evaluation process.

This means, the CBSE Class 12 Result 2026 may still be declared in the same timeline, i.e. in May, despite faster evaluation process.

The CBSE has denied reports that its new On-Screen Marking (OSM) system is having technical glitches. Controller of Examinations Sanyam Bhardwaj said the evaluation is going “perfectly” and on time. The CBSE has scheduled the release of final results for the third week of May 2026 once all the preparations are done.

The Central Board of Secondary Education Class 12 results for 2026 will be announced online. As per recent confirmation, the results are expected to be declared in May 2026.

Students will be able to check their scores on the official website, cbse.gov.in. Updates regarding the exact date and time of the result announcement will also be shared there.

CBSE Class 12 exams were conducted from February 17 to April 10, 2026. All the examinations were held in a single shift.

Once the results are announced, students can download the marks memo from the official websites or through DigiLocker. To view the results, the following details are required: Roll Number, School Code, and Date of Birth.

SMS service: Students can obtain results by sending a message in a specific format.
IVRS Call: Results can be heard via phone call.
DigiLocker: Mark certificates can be downloaded.
UMANG App: Results can be viewed through the mobile app.

In previous years the CBSE results were declared on May 13 in 2025 and 2024 as well. Before that, in 2023, the results were announced on 12th May.

• The result will appear on the screen.

The Central Board of Secondary Education is no longer stuck with the conventional system of marking. Instead, the answer scripts are scanned and checked on computer screens.

Examiners mark the scanned copies through the On-Screen Marking (OSM) system in a controlled digital environment. The process has become faster and less error-prone.

CBSE is also exploring the use of AI-based resources in evaluation as it ensures accuracy, transparency and speed. Furthermore, it helps standardise marking patterns and minimise discrepancies, thus leading to a more efficient result-processing system.

The CBSE board has not given any official date and time for class 12 results. However, it is expected to be out soon. Students are advised to keep a regular check on the official websites for regular updates.

The CBSE Board will not hold any press conference to declare Class 12th results. The results are expected to be released on the official websites.

Candidates would have to acquire at least 33 per cent marks to pass the CBSE Class 12 exams. They should also achieve the minimum qualifying marks in theory and practice for each subject separately. Both these criteria should be fulfilled to pass the exam.

The CBSE Class 12 marksheet won’t contain the overall pass percentage or division of a student.

Rather than overall pass percentage or division in the CBSE Class 12 marksheet, the detailed subject-wise breakdown of marks will be shown.

The parents and students will be able to see separate scores in theory and practice for each subject.

The results announcement is subject to CBSE’s grace marks policy. If a candidate is just one or two marks short of the qualifying marks, they may receive grace marks to pass the exams. In some instances, compensatory marks are also awarded if any errors in question papers are noticed.

CBSE has also started issuing marksheets through DigiLocker. Students with an APAAR ID linked to CBSE would have their marksheet appear automatically in the “Issued Documents” section.

Others can log in using their credentials and choose the appropriate CBSE Class 12 Result 2026 option to access the marks sheet. The portal should work even in times of high traffic.

For downloading the CBSE Class 12 marksheet, students would have to follow the below-mentioned steps:

• Go to the official results portal. 
• Click on the “Senior Secondary School Examination (Class XII) 2026” link.
• Enter the necessary credentials, like roll number, date of birth, etc.
• Click on ‘Submit’. 
• View and download the marksheet.

Students should print out the provisional result as soon as possible, especially for admission to college.

The students can check the CBSE Class 12 Result 2026 on the official websites: cbse.gov.in and results.cbse.nic.in.

Furthermore, the result can also be checked on DigiLocker, where the digital marksheet can be downloaded. 

Students should have their roll number, school number, admit card ID, and date of birth handy to avoid any last-minute issues.

According to the official figures, the CBSE Class 12 Result 2026 will be declared in the third week of May.

Whereas, in previous years, the results were released in the second week of May, now there might be an opportunity to get the results a little later.
