Sherfane Rutherford completed his maiden half-century in the final over. The left-handed batter finished with 71 runs off 31 balls but the five-time champions still fell short by 18 runs against RCB.

That over from Jacob Duffy could have very well sealed the clash. The pacer dismissed Hardik Pandya on the fourth ball of the 15th over. The MI skipper scored 40 runs in 22 balls, hitting six fours and a six.
Suyash Sharma finished his spell with an expensive 14-run over. The spinner was hit for a four by Hardik Pandya before Sherfane Rutherford hit a huge six.
Finally, Krunal Pandya has been rewarded for his controlled bowling. The left-arm spinner who bowls more bouncers than some fast bowlers dismissed Suryakumar Yadav in the 13th over. Sherfane Rutherford has come to the crease as an impact player.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar bowled a solid over as Suryakumar Yadav and Hardik Pandya struggled to keep up with the required run rate. The right-arm pacer was hit for a couple of fours by Hardik Pandya but the over went for only nine runs.
After picking up two wickets in his first over, Suyash Sharma got hit for three boundaries. Two of those boundaries came off Suryakumar Yadav’s bat. Hardik Pandya too struck a four as 14 runs came off the 10th over.
Another splendid over from Krunal Pandya. The left-arm spinner bowling to his brother, Hardik and Suryakumar Yadav gave only five runs in the ninth over. The required run rate has now gone beyond 14 runs per over.
MI need 156 runs to win in 11 overs.
It is Suyash Sharma who has turned this game in RCB’s side. The leg-spinner picked up a couple of wickets in the eighth over and dismissed Ryan Rickelton and Tilak Varma. Meanwhile, Hardik Pandya smashed a six on the first ball he faced from Suyash.
Once again, Krunal Pandya failed to close out an economical over strongly. Giving only six runs off the first five balls, Krunal was hit for a four on the final ball of the seventh over by Suryakumar Yadav.
Rasikh Salam, on his return to the playing XI, has been the pick among the bowlers. The pacer has gone for only 15 runs in his two overs. Bowling the final over of the power play he was hit for a four by Suryakumar Yadav, who replaced Rohit Sharma at the crease.

It has been a long 18th over from Hardik Pandya. After being hit for a four on the first ball, the MI skipper went down, and it seemed that he felt dizzy. After receiving medical attention, Pandya bowled a waist-high no-ball, which was reviewed by the hosts. He was then hit for a six by Tim David on the free hit. The ball’s shape was then examined by the umpires and even Tim David himself. The Aussie batter was signalling how the ball has gone out of shape but the umpires decided to carry on with the same ball.

Shardul Thakur could not follow his wicket-taking over strongly. The bowling all-rounder bowled four wides and went for 23 runs in the 13th over. Rajat Patidar struck a four and a six, while Kohli too hit a boundary. The opening batter is three runs shy of his half-century.
It might be an understatement to say Rajat Patidar is off to a flying start. On the first ball he faced, the RCB skipper struck a four. In the 12th over, as Mayank Markande came on to bowl, Patidar struck three sixes on the trot as the spinner went for 20 runs.
Shardul Thakur has broken the dangerous-looking opening stand between Phil Salt and Virat Kohli. The bowling all-rounder dismissed Phil Salt on the fifth ball of the over. Rajat Patidar came in at number three and struck a four on the very first ball he faced.
Hardik Pandya returned to the attack and gave 10 runs in the over. The MI skipper induced a false shot, which almost carried to Trent Boult. He bowled a yorker gone wrong that was hit for a six by Phil Salt.
The flow of runs is not stopping at Wankhede Stadium. After the onslaught from Phil Salt, it is Virat Kohli who took charge against Mitchell Santner. The former RCB skipper struck a couple of fours as the ninth over went for 10 runs.
There is no stopping Phil Salt. As he did against Mitchell Santner in the power play, the English batter put Mayank Markande under extreme pressure in his first over. Salt welcomed Markande with three fours and a six. He also reached his first half-century of the season.
Mitchell Santner has made a strong comeback after being hit for 22 runs in his opening over. The Kiwi spinner gave only four runs in the seventh over. Only four singles were scored in the over.
Jasprit Bumrah, coming on to bowl the final over of the power play, closed out strongly. The right-arm pacer went for only six runs in the sixth over. However, RCB is firmly on top in this clash as the fielding restrictions are lifted.
