Lucknow Super Giants continued to build in the 16th over as Abdul Samad smashed a huge six off Marco Jansen. Josh Inglis kept rotating strike to move into the 70s.

After 16 overs, LSG were 157/4, with Inglis on 71 and Samad on 8.

Samad attacked again in the 17th over with a six and a boundary off Shashank Singh, but PBKS struck back with the key wicket of Inglis, who departed for a superb 72 off 44 balls after being caught by Shreyas Iyer.

At the end of 17 overs, LSG reached 169/5, with Samad batting on 19.

Marco Jansen bowled an excellent 18th over, conceding just four runs and dismissing Mukul Choudhary with a sharp catch taken by substitute Praveen Dubey.

After 18 overs, Lucknow Super Giants were 173/6, with Abdul Samad unbeaten on 21 off 12 balls.

Yuzvendra Chahal struck again for Punjab Kings in the 14th over to break the growing partnership between Josh Inglis and Rishabh Pant. Pant survived an earlier chance after being dropped by Shreyas Iyer and even managed a clever boundary with a paddle sweep, but Chahal had the final say as the LSG skipper mistimed a slog and was caught comfortably by Marco Jansen in the deep.

Abdul Samad came in and safely defended the final delivery of the over.

After 14 overs, Lucknow Super Giants were 134/4, with Josh Inglis unbeaten on 58 off 35 balls and Abdul Samad yet to score.

Lucknow Super Giants continued to rebuild through Josh Inglis and Rishabh Pant after the early wickets. Inglis attacked Vijaykumar Vyshak in the 10th over, smashing a four and a six as LSG crossed the 100-run mark.

After 10 overs, LSG were 100/3, with Inglis on 37 and Pant on 14.

Yuzvendra Chahal then tightened things up with a quiet 11th over, conceding just three runs and keeping both batters in check. However, Inglis shifted gears again in the 12th over, taking Arshdeep Singh apart with a six, two fours and a couple to bring up his half-century in style.

At the end of 12 overs, LSG surged to 122/3, with Inglis unbeaten on 55 off 30 balls and Pant on 17.

Punjab Kings regained some control in the 13th over as Shashank Singh bowled a tidy spell, giving away only four singles despite Inglis attempting a few innovative shots.

After 13 overs, LSG were 126/3, with Inglis batting on 57 off 34 balls and Pant on 19 off 18.

Lucknow Super Giants recovered brilliantly after early setbacks, thanks to Ayush Badoni’s explosive counterattack. The youngster smashed Marco Jansen for 18 runs in the fifth over before taking apart Azmatullah Omarzai for 24 runs in the sixth, including two sixes and two fours.

LSG ended the powerplay strongly at 66/2, with Badoni racing to 42 off 16 balls and Josh Inglis on 19.

Punjab Kings hit back after the timeout as Yuzvendra Chahal removed Badoni for a fiery 43 off 18 with a sharp stumping by Prabhsimran Singh. Rishabh Pant then joined Inglis and steadied the innings.

After seven overs, LSG were 71/3. Vijaykumar Vyshak bowled a controlled eighth over before Pant attacked Chahal with a boundary in the ninth.

At the end of nine overs, LSG reached 88/3, with Josh Inglis unbeaten on 26 off 20 balls and Rishabh Pant on 13 off 8.

Marco Jansen made an immediate impact after being introduced into the attack for Punjab Kings. Nicholas Pooran managed a single off the first ball before Jansen troubled Josh Inglis with sharp movement and extra bounce. After conceding a wide and a leg bye, the left-arm pacer delivered the big breakthrough in the over as Pooran chopped the ball back onto his stumps while attempting a pull shot. Ayush Badoni then safely negotiated the final delivery.

At the end of three overs, Lucknow Super Giants were struggling at 20/2, with Josh Inglis on 16 and Ayush Badoni yet to score.

Azmatullah Omarzai continued his impressive spell in the fourth over, keeping things extremely tight. Inglis and Badoni found it difficult to break free against disciplined lines and managed only singles throughout the over. PBKS’ bowlers maintained control after the fiery first over and steadily built pressure on the LSG batters.

After four overs, LSG reached 24/2, with Josh Inglis batting on 18 off 11 balls and Ayush Badoni on 2 off 5.

Azmatullah Omarzai struck in the very first ball of the second over to hand Punjab Kings an early breakthrough. Arshin Kulkarni attempted an ambitious slash outside off but only managed a faint under-edge through to Prabhsimran Singh, departing for a golden duck.

Nicholas Pooran walked in under pressure and endured a testing start against Omarzai’s disciplined spell. The left-hander survived a loud LBW appeal and struggled to get going as PBKS tightened the screws after the expensive first over. Pooran finally got off the mark with a single on the last ball.

After two overs, Lucknow Super Giants were 17/1, with Josh Inglis unbeaten on 16 off 6 balls and Nicholas Pooran on 1 off 5.

Punjab Kings won the toss and elected to bowl first against Lucknow Super Giants in Match 68 of the Indian Premier League 2026 at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow. Josh Inglis and Arshin Kulkarni walked out to open the innings, while Arshdeep Singh took the new ball for PBKS.

The over began in explosive fashion as Inglis got off the mark with a crisp boundary through sweeper cover off the very first delivery. Arshdeep then tightened his lines briefly, beating the batter with a hint of movement and denying him scoring opportunities on the next two balls. However, Inglis quickly shifted gears and put the pacer under immense pressure. A short ball was swivel-pulled to the backward square leg fence before the Australian batter smashed consecutive boundaries down the ground to finish the over in style.

Arshdeep’s opening over leaked 16 runs as Inglis raced to 16 off just six deliveries, giving LSG the perfect start after being asked to bat first.
