Michael Jackson Movie, Ginny Wedss Sunny 2 Release Highlights: Fans Call Jaafar Jackson Starrer ‘Pure Nostalgia’

A person on X reviewed Michael Jackson movie and said, “I wanted to put my thoughts down about this feeling I had after watching this movie. I am overwhelmed in a good way. If you’ve been a life long Michael Jackson fan, you’re in for a treat. This is a special movie.”

She added, “The movie is a celebration of Michael Jackson the artist and that’s been done beautifully. It’s the closest you will ever come to experiencing a  Michael Jackson concert. It is a movie for the fans. People will end up going back to watch it again because of the performances. They are that good and once is not enough. It is pure nostalgia and thoroughly entertaining. Don’t listen to the critics and the reviews. Go watch it!”

A user @fenil_seta said, “GinnyWedssSunny2 Certain scenes are so silly and childish that one wonders how it even  got approved in the first place. Even the music is lacklustre.”

He added, “#GinnyWedssSunny2 rests on a weak storyline but it could have made for a decent  entertainer. Sadly, the script fails to cover up the shortcomings and even the direction is not up to the mark. A few scenes here and there are lovely.”

The user further wrote, “Also, performances and appealing cinematography make the film bearable. On the other hand, barely any joke lands. One ‘funny’ scene in the first half is embarrassing. Several developments are forced merely to drive the narrative forward.”

An X user, @amitbhatia1509, asserted, “Old Story, No Spark! Ginny Wedss Sunny 2 misses the magic! An outdated story, weak writing and no emotional connection make it hard to enjoy. Feels like “begani shaadi mein Abdullah deewana” — all noise, no heart.”

A person on X, @avhr797, watched Michael and said that the legend’s story continues. It can never be accommodated in one single film and hence the criticisms.

“Watched #Michael last night, and I think some of the criticism misses the film intent.… Its like expecting a complete life story within a 2hr runtime feels misplaced… Yeah people he is MICHEAL JACKSON, his story cant be contained in a single film especially when the film clearly ends with “his story continues,” signaling a broader narrative beyond this chapter… It wonders me how many didn’t get this… What the film chooses to focus on his childhood and abusive upbringing is not a minor detail but a defining foundation of who he becomes… Instead of treating it as an incomplete biopic it makes more sense to view it as a selective character study on a part… Isn’t that something worth talking about?… We are all used to seeing drastic dramatic arcs in biopics but here there’s a deeper emotional arc, and anyone paying attention will understand it… and it still amazes me how people didn’t understand the line, “HIS STORY WILL CONTINUE.,” he said.

Medha Shankr and Avinash Tiwary recently spoke to IMDb about their film Ginny Wedss Sunny 2 and shared their take on working together. Avinash shared, “I think it’s the script that made me really, really jump with joy. It felt like this is one film my entire family would absolutely sit down and watch and thoroughly enjoy. That was one thing that really touched me.”

Meanwhile, Medha mentioned, “I think the script is damn fun. Like, I haven’t laughed like that while reading a script in a very long time. So, I was sold on that.”

According to Sacnilk, 1.10 lakh Michael tickets were sold in India for the weekend. This marked the fourth-highest Hollywood advance bookings ever after Avengers: Endgame, Oppenheimer and Barbie.

An X user said that Michael is expected to collect Rs 1 crore plus in previews. “A weekend in the range of Rs 20-30 crores will be ideal. The negative reviews from the West has not had any effect, it  seems, on the desi audiences, as evident by the strong ticket sales,” he added.

Speaking on Ginny Wedss Sunny 2, the person mentioned, “Though Ginny Weds Sunny was a decent success on  Netflix, it doesn’t have recall value. The opening of Ginny Wedss Sunny 2 is expected to be around Rs 50 lakh. It needs a strong word of mouth to have some sort of respectable collections in its lifetime.”

In India, bookings have already commenced in advance of the release of Michael, and the movie is set to be released on April 23, 2026.
