Zalmi are coming into this game having registered a huge win against the Karachi Kings. It was an all-round effort from the team, with Kusal Mendis becoming the first Sri Lankan batter to score a century in the league. Meanwhile, the Lahore-based side lost to Islamabad United in their previous game by nine wickets.
Peshawar Zalmi remains the only team to have not been defeated in the ongoing season of the Pakistan Super League. Boasting the likes of Babar Azam and Kusal Mendis at the top of the order, the team has one of the strongest batting lineups in the league. Babar has scored 169 runs in three innings while going at a strike rate of 145.68. Meanwhile, Kusal has 167 runs next to his name, striking at above 180 in three innings. In the bowling department, it is Iftikhar Ahmed and Sufiyan Muqeem who have been the highest wicket-takers. The two spinners have picked up seven wickets each in the season. Iftikhar has been better than his bowling partner, going at an economy of only 4.86 runs per over.
Lahore Qalandars started their season with a 69-run win over Hyderabad Kingsmen. However, a ball-tampering controversy marred their season in their defeat to Karachi Kings in the following clash. The controversy saw their batter Fakhar Zaman being banned for two games in the PSL, which he has served. In Fakhar’s absence, the Qalandars lost and won a game each. With Zaman being available for selection for this clash, Shaheen Afridi would look to bring his star batter back in the squad as they face a tough challenge in the form of Peshawar Zalmi.

Sufiyan Muqeem continues to shine in PSL 2026. The leg-spinner dismissed LQ skipper, Shaheen Afridi, in the 12th over. Coming into this clash, Muqeem had seven wickets to his name and has now picked up a couple of scalps.
Michael Bracewell is wreaking havoc against the Lahore Qalandars. The Kiwi spinner has picked up his third wicket in the match. He dismissed Sikandar Raza after being hit for a four on the previous delivery. The Zimbabwean skipper scored only 14 runs in 13 balls.
Sufiyan Muqeem came into the attack to bowl the 10th over, and straightaway created an impact. The tall leg-spinner struck with his second ball of the spell and dismissed Asif Ali. The batter was dismissed for a second-ball duck. Shaheen Afridi came to the crease on the fall of the fifth wicket as the Qalandars stare to yet another defeat.

Fakhar Zaman’s return for Lahore Qalandars has not been fruitful for the batter. He was dismissed in the seventh over with Michael Bracewell picking up the wicket. Zaman scored 21 runs, hitting three fours during his 19-ball stay at the crease.

Iftikhar Ahmed struck a four on the final ball of the innings as Peshawar Zalmi finished with 173 runs on the board in the first innings.
Mustafizur Rahman struck twice in the 19th over. The Bangladeshi pacer dismissed Michael Bracewell and Aamer Jamal to end his spell. The Bangladeshi gave only 30 runs in his quota of four overs.
It is back-to-back wickets for Lahore Qalandars in two overs. After Shaheen dismissed Kusal Mendis, Ubaid Shah returned and got Abdul Samad out in the 18th over. Samad had played a blistering knock in the previous game, providing a strong finish.

Sikandar Raza replaced Usama Mir in the attack. The Zimbabwean skipper was hit for a six on the third ball of the over by Babar Azam. There were five more singles in the over as Raza’s first over went for 11 runs.
Dunith Wellalage finally brought some control back into the innings. The spinner, after going for 25 runs in his first two overs, gave only four runs in the 11th over.
The spinners are bowling in tandem but are unable to stem the flow of runs. Usama Mir gave seven runs in his second over in the 10th over. He was hit for a boundary by Kusal Mendis on the first ball of the over. Mendis stepped down the pitch to hit the boundary.
Dunith Wellalalage, after bowling the second over, was called back to bowl the ninth over. The Sri Lankan spinner was struck for a four by Babar Azam. It was an eight-run over from the spinner as the Peshawar Zalmi sets the stage.
Leg spinner, Usama Mir came to bowl the eighth over. The leg-spinner started his over strongly giving away only four runs in the first four balls. However, a fuller-pitched delivery was crunched to the boundary by Babar Azam as eight runs came off the eighth over.
Mustafizur Rahman has continued to bowl with extreme control in his first two overs. The left-arm pacer after starting with a four-run over gave only five in the seventh over. His control with the ball in hand has meant that both Babar and Kusal have been unable to his him for a single boundary.
Kusal Mendis is continuing right from where he left off against Karachi Kings. The Sri Lankan batter struck his first six of the match in the sixth over, hitting Ubaid Shah into the stands. Earlier in the over, Babar Azam was hit on his neck but he is okay to continue batting.
