PM Modi In Assam: Narendra Modi Addesses In Guwahati On Bhupen Hazarika's Birth Anniversary
Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended the function organised to commemorate the 100th Birth Anniversary of Bharat Ratna Dr. Bhupen Hazarika in Guwahati.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Manipur today, September 13, in his first trip to the state since ethnic clashes erupted in 2023. At around 12:30 pm, he will arrive in Churachandpur district from Aizawl, Mizoram. The Prime Minister will address a public gathering at the Peace Ground, interact with people displaced by the Meitei-Kuki conflict, and lay foundation stones for development projects worth Rs 7,300 crore.
The violence in Churachandpur, one of the worst-hit districts, claimed over 260 lives and left thousands homeless. PM Modi will be the first leader to visit the district since Rajiv Gandhi in 1988. Later, he will travel to Imphal to inaugurate projects worth Rs 1,200 crore and address another public programme.

It is my good fortune that I have got the opportunity to participate in this event of his birth centenary year. Just now, (CM) Hemanta was saying that I have done a favour by coming here. On the contrary, it is my good fortune to come on such a holy occasion. We all used to lovingly call Bhupen da ‘Sudha Kontho’. He gave voice to the feelings of India…Bhupen Da is no longer physically present among us, but his songs, his voice, are still witnessing India’s development journey, giving it energy. Our government is celebrating Bhupen Da’s birth centenary year with great pride.” (ANI)

During the Congress rule, medicines, test kits, and insurance policies were heavily taxed. That is why healthcare was expensive and insurance was out of reach for ordinary families. But today, all these have become affordable. The new GST rates will also make medicines for serious diseases like cancer more affordable. After September 22nd, cement and construction materials will also become cheaper. Many companies that manufacture scooters and cars have already reduced prices. I am sure that the festive season this time will be even more vibrant across the nation. As part of the reforms, GST on most hotels have been reduced to only 5% traveling to various places, staying in hotels and eating out will become cheaper. This will help more people travel, explore and enjoy different parts of our country…”

PM Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Bairabi-Sairang New Rail line, worth over Rs 8,070 crore, connecting the capital of Mizoram to the Indian Railways network for the first time. The Rail line Project, built in a challenging hilly area, has 45 tunnels constructed under complex geological conditions. Additionally, it also includes 55 major bridges and 88 minor bridges.
