Lucknow Super Giants vs Royal Challengers Bengaluru Match Scorecard Highlights: RCB Wins By Five Wickets, Virat Kohli Climbs Top Of The Orange Cap Leaderboard

Royal Challengers Bengaluru continued their fine form in IPL 2026. The Rajat Patidar-led side won their fourth game of the season. At home, where they did not have the best of starts in the previous year, the defending champions have already won three out of three games. They defeated LSG by five wickets, chasing down 147 with 29 balls to spare. With a huge win, RCB are now on top of the IPL 2026 points table. 

Digvesh Rathi’s expensive night came to an end with yet another costly over. The leg-spinner gave 13 runs in 14th over. However, he would hard done by with a fielding effort from Aiden Markram that could have led him to his first wicket of the night. In the over, he was hit for a six and a four by Tim David. 

Prince Yadav picked up a couple of wickets in his third over. He was struck for a six on the first ball but bounced back quickly and dismissed Rajat Patidar. A couple of balls later, Prince got the better of Jitesh as RCB lost their fifth wicket. 

If there was one player for RCB who had not hit any form, it was Jitesh Sharma. However, the wicketkeeper batter shut all the doubters. He went after Digvesh Rathi hitting a couple of sixes and a couple of fours on the trot to end the 12th over. 

No fifty for Virat Kohli as Avesh Khan dismisses the former RCB skipper one run short of the milestone. Avesh Khan gave six runs in the 11th over. Rajat Patidar struck yet another boundary in the over. 

George Linde bowling his first over started economically. The South African spinner gave only five runs in the 10th over. However, chasing a paltry total these overs won’t hurt RCB. 

Rajat Patidar has continued his form. The RCB skipper after scoring only one run off the first three balls he faced, Patidar struck a couple of sixes on the trot against Mohammed Shami. The required run rate has now been brought back to run-a-ball.

Once again, LSG have bowled a tight over. Avesh Khan bowling the eighth over struck on his second ball of the over. He dismissed Devdutt Padikkal and has put RCB in some trouble. 

Digvesh Rathi bowled a solid seventh over. The leg spinner gave only five runs in the over as the Lucknow Super Giants strung together a couple of quiet overs. 

Royal Challengers Bengaluru has absolutely bossed the power play against Lucknow Super Giants. With Virat Kohli playing his first game as an impact player, the former RCB skipper has raced to 40 runs in only 20 balls, going at a strike rate of 200. With a small target, RCB are acing this chase, having scored 60 runs in six overs.

With the pacers going for runs, spin was introduced for the first time in the fifth over. Digvesh Rathi bowled his fifth over and was struck by a huge six by Virat Kohli on the first ball he faced from the spinner. 

There is no stopping Virat Kohli. Playing as an impact for the first time since the rule was introduced, Kohli struck four fours in the third over against Prince Yadav. 17 runs came off the over as Prince Yadav lost his mark completely. 

Virat Kohli against Mohammed Shami was one of the most talked-about battles for this clash. The former RCB skipper struck his ex Indian teammate for a couple of fours in the third over. 

Prince Yadav added yet another prized wicket to his tally. The uncapped Indian pacer dismissed Phil Salt on the fourth ball of the second over. He was hit for a four by Devdutt Padikkal on the very next delivery. 

Mohammed Shami bowled an eventful first over. The right-arm pacer found some early swing and was even struck for a four. As he bowled the last ball of the over, there was a run-out chance, but a misfield from Digvesh Rathi meant that the opportunity was missed. 

As SRH did with Ishan Kishan, LSG is following the same path with Rishabh Pant. Pant, who has kept the wickets so far in the season, did not take the gloves with Mukul Choudhary taking over the wicketkeeping duties.

Rasikh Salam Dar capped off an incredible night for himself by picking up two wickets in his final over. The superb all-round bowling performance from Royal Challengers Bengaluru has meant that the Lucknow Super Giants have been bowled out for only 146 runs. 

Bhuvneshwar Kumar turned back the clocks as he produced a scintillating last over of his spell. The right-arm pacer picked up two wickets in the 19th over, dismissing George Linde and Mohammed Shami. 

Josh Hazlewood came back into the attack to bowl out his four overs. The Aussie pacer was hit for a boundary on the fourth ball by George Linde. He finished his spell, taking the wicket of Nicholas Pooran and giving only 20 runs in his four overs. 

Lucknow Super Giants, during the back end of the innings, have lost Ayush Badoni and Rishabh Pant in quick succession. Rasikh Salam dismissed Badoni in the 16th over. Bhuvneshwar Kumar got rid of Pant in the 17th over. The LSG skipper came back to the crease after being retired hurt earlier in the innings. 

SIX! Mukul Choudhary gets the first one of the night. Krunal Pandya tosses it up on middle, Choudhary leans in and uses his wrists to whip it over wide long-on for a maximum. 100 up for Lucknow Super Giants!

Pandya bowls it slower through the air on the pads, Samad looks to work it on the leg side but is early into the shot. OUT! Nicholas Pooran (1) is bowled! Josh Hazlewood gets his reward after keeping it tight. Back of a length outside off, Pooran goes for the pull but is beaten for pace. The ball takes the edge and goes back onto the stumps. RCB are on top here. This is LSG’s lowest powerplay score this season, with 15 dot balls. Rishabh Pant swings and misses, doesn’t connect. The ball takes the inside edge and goes to the keeper. Replay shows it hit him on the left elbow. The physio is out as Pant looks in discomfort. He was struck on the previous ball as well and is in pain. Pant is walking off the field. 

OUT! Aiden Markram (12) is caught by Devdutt Padikkal. Rasikh Salam Dar bowls a full toss outside leg, Markram looks to flick but closes the bat face early. The ball takes a leading edge and goes to cover. Dar gets a wicket in his first over.

SIX! That’s gone on the roof. Marsh picks the knuckle ball from Bhuvi, short in length, and sends it over deep mid-wicket. He had time to stay back and hit through the line. It’s a 102m hit, and a replacement ball is coming in. Lucknow 22/0 in 3 overs vs Bengaluru

Not much (on the pitch). The previous game was having a lot of grass. But I think this wicket, there is no grass. So, it will be a good track. But yeah, let’s see. I think everyone is doing pretty much good for the team (on the necessary improvements). And coming on the different stage and performing for the team. I think that’s what the team stand for us. Just one change. Josh Hazlewood comes in place of Duffy.“
