Both Yuzvendra Chahal and Shashank Singh returned to the attack for their second overs. Chahal went for seven runs in the 11th over before Shashank’s 12th over went for 12 runs. Virat Kohli completed his fourth fifty of the season, reaching the milestone in 31 balls.

Harpreet Brar returned to the attack and took his second wicket of the game. The left-arm spinner dismissed Devdutt Padikkal while going for only four runs in the 10th over. 

After an expensive 21-run over from Chahal, the Punjab Kings have done well to stem the flow of runs. Shashank Singh was introduced in the attack and bowled a quiet nine-run eighth over. Azmatullah Omarzai then returned to give only six runs in the next over. 

Former RCB man, Yuzvendra Chahal, came in the attack right after the power play. The right-arm leg spinner bowled a poor first over and was hit for a six and a four. He then bowled a no-ball as well on the last ball. The extra ball went for a six again by Devdutt Padikkal. Chahal has started on an expensive note with a 21-run over. 

Arshdeep Singh returned to bowl the final over of the power play. The left-arm pacer was hit for a couple of boundaries each by Virat Kohli and Devdutt Padikkar. 12 runs came off the sixth over as RCB built a strong partnership after losing Jacob Bethell early in the innings. 

For the first time in this innings, a bowler from PBKS continued their spell. Harpreet Brar returned to bowl his second over in the game. He was once again struck for a four on the first ball by Padikkal as nine runs came off the fifth over. 

Virat Kohli continues to take the attack against the Punjab Kings bowlers. The right-handed batter struck his second six of the match as Lockie Ferguson bowled the fourth over. Interestingly, no bowler for PBKS have bowled more than one over so far in the innings. 

It is looking like a successful return to the playing XI for Harpreet Brar. The left-arm spinner, playing only his second game this season, was welcomed with a four by Jacob Bethell. Brar bounced back strongly and picked up Bethell’s wicket on the very next ball. Devdutt Padikkal sturck a six on his first ball to get off the mark. 

Azmatullah Omarzai took the new ball from the opposite end and was on the receiving end of a fantastic six by Virat Kohli. Jacob Bethell, too, got lucky as an inside edge raced to the fine-leg boundary. 

It was a tidy first over from Arshdeep Singh. The left-arm pacer gave only four runs from the first over as Jacob Bethell and Virat Kohli got off the mark while taking a look at how the pitch is behaving. 

Jitesh Sharma at the toss provided an update on Rajat Patidar’s fitness. The stand-in skipper said that Patidar is doing fine and should be available for the next clash in Hyderabad.
