BJP, Shinde Establish Initiatives For The Maharashtra Government: Points

Eknath Shinde, a Shiv Sena rebel, met with all rebel MLAs this morning at 10 am for what they are referring to as a legislative party gathering.

Shiv Sena rebels, who landed in Goa yesterday night, may meet with the Governor today after Uddhav Thackeray’s resignation as chief minister of Maharashtra. The BJP asserts that they can establish a new government with the support of more than 170 MLAs.

This is how the big narrative is explained:

  1. After today’s meeting with other rebels in Goa, Sena rebel Eknath Shinde—who broke from a majority of his party’s MLAs and toured BJP-ruled states across the nation—will see the governor. Shinde was the catalyst for the crisis in the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government.
  2. According to sources, Eknath Shinde would shortly depart Goa and travel by himself to Mumbai. He will see the Governor after a few meetings (with whom is still unknown). He may meet state BJP officials, including former Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, according to sources.
  3. “The details of cabinet positions have not yet been discussed with the BJP, but they will soon. Please don’t believe the ministerial lists or rumours about it till then “In a tweet, Mr. Shinde stated. A new administration will not yet be claimed by the BJP, according to sources. Girish Mahajan, a BJP leader, has asserted that the party will form the government within the next three days and that they have the support of more than 170 MLAs.
  4. Devendra Fadnavis is anticipated to be a contender for the state’s top position after seeing the governor on Tuesday night and starting the end game. The Maharashtra BJP tweeted a link to a Marathi-language address by Mr. Fadnavis. The caption that accompanied it said, in Marathi, “I’m going to return. in order to build a brand-new Maharashtra! Maharashtra, Jai “. According to sources, Mr. Fadnavis’s deputy is likely to be Eknath Shinde.
  5. There is also a raging dispute over who is entitled to the Shiv Sena, as the rebel camp hasn’t yet stated that it intends to split off and join the BJP or even start a new party. They assert that they are the true Shiv Sena and that the faction led by Thackeray is a tiny minority that is attempting to forge a fresh alliance with the BJP. They might attempt to talk with the Thackeray camp, according to rumours.
  6. Uddhav Thackeray’s departure “is not a subject of delight for us,” according to MLA Deepak Kesarkar, the rebel faction’s spokesman, who made the statement on Wednesday. He claimed that the disagreement resulted from the party’s collaboration with the Congress and Sharad Pawar’s Nationalist Congress Party. Additionally, he emphasised the importance of Sena leader Sanjay Raut, whose rise to prominence, according to some party insiders, had unnerved rebel leader Eknath Shinde.
  7. On Wednesday, just after the Supreme Court declared that his administration must take a floor test at 11 a.m. on Thursday as directed by the Governor, Uddhav Thackeray presented his resignation to Koshyari at Raj Bhavan in Mumbai. In spite of his resignation, the Governor urged him to serve as Chief Minister while other arrangements were being established. His resignation nullifies the requirement for a majority on the assembly floor.
  1. “I am retiring as the Chief Minister. I don’t want to be involved in any Shiv Sainik deaths that may occur tomorrow “During his resignation announcement on Facebook Live yesterday evening, Mr. Thackeray remarked. In a direct attack on the rebels, he continued, “Those whom we promoted and built up, they are the ones who have betrayed us.”
  2. Team Thackeray, reduced to only 15 or so MLAs as a result of Mr. Shinde’s mutiny, had urged the court to overturn the Governor’s decision requiring them to demonstrate a majority on the assembly floor.
  3. The Maha Vikas Aghadi alliance administration has been virtually overthrown by the rebellion led by Eknath Shinde and the 50 MLAs who back him, 40 of them are from the Shiv Sena.
