Delhi Airport T3 congestion: Passengers asked to reach 4hrs prior to departures

Air India issued a travel warning advising travellers to arrive at least 3.5 hours before domestic flights and 4 hours before international departures.

Amid increasing traffic at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport, Air India issued a travel warning advising travellers to arrive at least 3.5 hours before domestic flights and 4 hours before international departures.

The airline stated that the Delhi airport was experiencing higher-than-usual traffic, and passengers are advised to arrive at least 3.5 hours before their domestic flight time and 4 hours before their international flight time, and to bring only one piece of cabin baggage for a smooth security check. “We request that our guests complete web check-in for speedier boarding,” the statement read.

Earlier on Tuesday, Domestic airline InidiGo recommended customers to be at the airport at least 3.5 hours before domestic departures and to bring only one piece of hand luggage weighing 7 kg for a smooth security check.

The airline stated that Delhi airport was experiencing high traffic, and that check-in and boarding times will be longer than usual. It also urged travellers to enter through gates 5 and 6 at Delhi Airport’s Terminal 3, since they are closest to the IndiGo check-in booths.

Meanwhile, the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Transport, Tourism, and Culture called the CEO of Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) and others on Tuesday, December 15, after allegations of passenger congestion at the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) airport.
