Bengaluru Bus Stand Accident: Bus Ploughs Into Passengers, Kills 2-Year-Old Boy, Leaves Several Injured; Chilling CCTV Footage Surfaces (Via X)
A tragic accident at a bus stand in Bengaluru has left a two-year-old boy dead and several others injured after a state-run bus lost control and rammed into passengers waiting on the platform.
The incident, which took place early Wednesday morning, has sparked shock and concern, especially after CCTV footage of the crash went viral on social media.
The victim, identified as two-year-old Hazrat Ali, was at the bus stand with his family when the accident occurred. The sudden impact caused severe injuries, and although he was rushed to a nearby hospital immediately, he could not survive during treatment. The unexpected nature of the crash left bystanders in shock, with many describing the scene as terrifying.
Footage of the incident has since surfaced online, showing the moment the bus ploughed into the waiting passengers. The video has drawn widespread attention and concern, with many expressing grief and questioning safety at public transport hubs. The visuals have added to the outrage and raised serious concerns about passenger safety and infrastructure oversight.
Police have taken the driver into custody and begun an investigation into the incident. In his initial statement, the driver claimed that a brake failure caused him to lose control of the vehicle. Authorities are now examining both mechanical and human factors to determine the exact cause of the accident. A detailed forensic investigation is currently in progress.
This incident comes just days after another fatal crash on the Bengaluru–Mysuru Expressway in the Ramanagara district. That accident occurred early on March 30, when a bus veered off the road and crashed into a roadside barrier.
The impact left the vehicle severely damaged, and four people lost their lives. Police said the bus was carrying 43 people, including 36 passengers and seven staff members. Preliminary findings suggest that the driver may have fallen asleep while driving, leading to the crash.
The bus dragged along the roadside barrier for nearly 100 metres, causing metal rods to pierce through its side, worsening the damage and casualties.
