Bengaluru Tragedy: A tragic incident unfolded in Bengaluru where a 29-year-old software professional, identified as Pratibha, died by suicide shortly after her 11-month-old son, Agastya, accidentally drowned at their home. The tragic event took place on April 1 when she was alone with the child with the husband, Mahantesh, at work.

Bengaluru Tragedy: As per a report by NDTV Reports indicated that the unfortunate event occurred as the infant was crawling around the house and the accident happened thus making the day a devastating loss to the family. According to the police, this incident occurred when Pratibha briefly went to the terrace to pick up dry clothes. It is assumed that within that brief period the child crawled into the washing section and accidentally slipped into a bucket of water. Upon coming back, she discovered that her son was not responsive. Such an abrupt and startling loss caused her a lot of distress, and early indications of her reaction were that she thought that she had caused the tragic accident.
Bengaluru Tragedy: Suicide Note Says ‘I Am Responsible’
Bengaluru Tragedy: Devoid of hope, Pratibha supposedly tried to kill herself in various forms. According to investigators, she initially cut her wrist and took some pills but when they did not work she eventually hanged herself. One of the suicide notes found at the scene showed that she blamed herself in the death of her child. The finding of an empty strip of tablets by the police also affirmed the sequence of events as outlined in the note. A bit later in the evening, at about 6:30 PM, her husband got home and found the door locked indoors. With a spare key he entered and found his wife and child dead. The police have put in a case and initiated an investigation to investigate every facet of the occurrence. According to the family, they had been living in the rented apartment for the last four years. Police are currently approaching neighbours and relatives as they reconstruct the events that had taken place around this very sad tragedy.
