The cold wave is set to intensify further on April 4, with temperatures likely to dip to -18.51°C. Snowfall is expected to continue over the next week, keeping the region firmly in winter’s grip.

Mumbai Braces For Light Rain After Unseasonal Showers

Mumbai is likely to see light rain on Friday, a day after several areas recorded drizzle. The weather department has forecast showers across parts of Mumbai, Thane, Palghar, Raigad, and Sindhudurg.

Temperatures in the city are expected to stay around 33°C during the day and 24°C at night. Air quality remains in the satisfactory range, though a few areas have reported slightly higher pollution levels.

On Thursday night, suburbs like Borivali, Powai, Goregaon, and Santacruz received light rain due to a western disturbance. Meanwhile, parts of Maharashtra, including Pune, saw heavier unseasonal rainfall.

Across the state, weather conditions vary. Coastal areas remain humid, while interior regions continue to face higher temperatures, with some places crossing 38°C.

Gujarat On Alert As Rain, Thunderstorms Loom

Several districts in Gujarat are likely to receive light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning over the next two days.

This sudden change is being driven by a mix of weather systems, including a cyclonic circulation and a western disturbance. Areas such as Banaskantha, Kutch, Porbandar, Junagadh, Amreli, and Bhavnagar are expected to be affected.

The rainfall is likely to bring some relief from heat, with temperatures expected to drop by 2 to 3 degrees. However, the unseasonal showers may impact standing Rabi crops, prompting a warning for farmers to stay cautious.

Mixed Weather Across Major Cities

While the north battles extreme cold, other parts of the country are seeing a mix of heat and rain. Cities like Delhi and Ahmedabad have reported light rain, while Kolkata and Hyderabad continue to experience clear skies and rising temperatures.
