DC vs MI: Delhi Police issued an advisory instructing residents and those who are coming to watch the match as spectators. The advisory was part of the traffic regulations that will be followed tomorrow as the Delhi Capitals gear up to host their first clash of the 19th season of the Indian Premier League. DC will be hosting the Mumbai Indians at Arun Jaitley Stadium.
With two fan favourite teams ready to take the centre stage in Delhi, it is expected that a high number of spectators will be attending the match. The arrival of so many spectators could cause traffic congestion in the city. Keeping this in mind, the Delhi Police has announced an advisory for the citizens and those attending the match to follow.
In its traffic advisory, the Delhi Police advised that the traffic in specific areas of the city will be affected from 1 PM to 9 PM. People travelling to the game or commuting from the affected areas are advised to use different routes. The following roads could be the most affected:
Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg
Jawaharlal Nehru Marg (JLN Marg)
Asaf Ali Road
At specific points on Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg and Jawaharlal Nehru Marg, heavy and commercial vehicles (trucks, buses, and large vehicles) will be fully barred. These roads may also have parking restrictions. There won’t be much public parking close to the stadium. It is recommended that spectators make use of the park and ride facility.
The weather at Arun Jaitley Stadium, hosting the clash between Delhi Capitals and Mumbai Indians, will be pretty warm. Given that it is a morning game, the weather will play its part on the players as well as the spectators. The humid weather and temperatures ranging between 28 and 30 degrees Celsius could result in dampening the overall experience for the fans.
The weather is unlikely to disrupt the game because the sky will be somewhat cloudy, and there is just a 10–15% possibility of very light rain. As the game continues into the night, strong gusts will occasionally sweep through.
Given the strong nature of the Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League, it is only natural that they boast an impressive head-to-head record against DC. In 37 games played against each other, the five-time champions have been the victorious side on 21 occasions.
In recent times, MI has dominated the rivalry between the two teams, having won four of the five games played since 2023. With both teams registering a win in their opening games, they will be looking to carry on with their winning streak.
