SRH vs RCB: There were many spectacular moments during Friday night’s IPL 2026 encounter between Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). On social media, however, a reaction from the stands took center stage. When RCB bowler Krunal Pandya bowled his now well-known bouncer, Sunrisers Hyderabad CEO Kavya Maran’s response went viral. Maran turned to face the people seated next to her, with a perplexed look as Krunal delivered a bouncer. Then, as she repeated his bowling action with her hands, she seemed to ask around, “Is he chucking?”
Krunal Pandya’s bowling variations have been the talk of the town during the IPL 2026 season but his performance against Sunrisers Hyderabad on May 22 was not to everyone’s liking. While many have praised the RCB all-rounder for his deft use of the crease, his ability to conceal his release point, and his willingness to mix up bouncers and yorkers, SRH owner Kavya Maran had a completely different response, which has since gone viral on social media.
Kavya Maran was seen in the stands, repeating Krunal Pandya’s action in a video that quickly went viral on social media, clearly wondering if Krunal was bowling with a legal action. The incident occurred during a high-scoring match between the two teams, particularly after Krunal struck the pitch hard while bowling to Nitish Kumar Reddy. It’s evident that Kavya was making gestures and seemed to wonder if the left-arm spinner was throwing.
Calling out someone for chucking cricket is possibly the biggest accusation that can be thrown. With Kavya Maran gesturing and seen calling Pandya a chucker, the all-rounder would now be under the spotlight while bowling. It is important to note that Krunal has been one of the top-performing all-rounders since joining the Royal Challengers Bengaluru in 2025. The left-arm spinner has certainly added a new dimension to his game with varied bowling actions.
In 13 innings in IPL 2026, Pandya has bowled 23 overs and has picked up 11 wickets. His economy is slightly less than nine runs per over. Considering how he is a multi-dimensional cricketer who can contribute with the bat in hand as well, his bowling returns are quite good in a season where run-scoring has been on the higher side. Meanwhile, with the bat, Krunal has scored 182 runs in seven innings, averaging 45.50 while striking at 145.60. He even won a match with his knock of 73 against his former team, Mumbai Indians, in Raipur.
