Since the schedule of the Indian Premier League and Pakistan Super League was announced, and it was noticed that the two marquee leagues will clash, there has been an ongoing debate comparing the two leagues. Recently, a Pakistani fan claimed that Danny Morrison blasted the IPL for its alleged illegal activities. The Kiwi commentator reacted to the viral tweet and dismissed the Pakistani fan’s claim. Morrison said that the tweet made using his name is completely “untrue and totally fake”. He asked the user to delete the tweet.

Morrison, who is currently the commentator in the IPL 2026, has also worked in the PSL in the past. Given the clash of the two marquee leagues’ schedules, it meant that Morrison chose to take part in the IPL 2026 commentary panel.

Fake post made by Pakistani fan goes viral

In the fake post made by the Pakistani fan, it was claimed that Danny Morrison basted the IPL. The viral post alleged that Morrison talked about how there are illegal activities going on in the IPL. The post alleged that the Kiwi commentator talked about how the quality of cricket is better in the PSL. It was claimed that Morrison said, “I’ve been part of both leagues. Last year I was in PSL; this year I’m here in IPL for commentary. And honestly, even if it stings people, the quality of cricket in PSL feels much better to me.”

Talking about the alleged illegal activities the post said, “Here in IPL, I keep hearing things that don’t feel right. There’s talk around the game, even about bookies trying to influence things, and that’s very concerning.”

The viral post from the Pakistani supporter alleged that there is a lack of spirit of cricket in the IPL. In the post, it was alleged that Morrison talked about the treatment foreign players receive in the PSL is much superior to what it is in the IPL.

The post alleged that Morrison would choose PSL over IPL if put in a position to choose between the two leagues. The viral post claimed that Morrison said, “even if it costs me my job, I’ll still say it: if I have to choose next year, I won’t come here again. Because this, this is not what cricket should feel like. You’re slowly ruining the game, and that’s the most disappointing part.”

IPL vs PSL: Danny Morrison dismisses the claim made by Pakistani fan

Danny Morrison, while replying to the original tweet, dismissed the claim made by the Pakistani supporter as completely untrue. Morrison, in his reply, said, “Hey @RayhamUnplugged, really uncool to post this untrue & totally fake information using my name & profile!!!  Do the right thing & delete it.”

The Kiwi commentator made a separate post about the fake claim made by the fan. In that post, Morrison said, “Awoken to some ridiculous fake news – post recently?! Just want to assure cricket fans – cricket fraternity it is fake BS & very uncool to post stuff like that!!!”
