The new rising star of the McLaren Formula 1, Oscar Piastri, has achieved what may go down in history as one of his greatest legacies. He will be the next driver to be provided with his own grandstand on rotation at the Australian Grand Prix in Albert Park, an exclusive club including legends Lewis Hamilton, Max Verstappen, and Lando Norris.

Oscar Piastri and his 2025 race wins

Piastri has not yet relented his monstrous climb in 2025 as the challenge to the Drivers Championship entered into a close battle between him and Lando Norris, his teammate wherein he has lost to Norris by a total of nine points. The Constructors standings are topped by McLaren who is propelled by the impressive capabilities of the two drivers.

Other drivers who have risen to the top with driver grandstands in Melbourne include three-time world champion Jack Brabham, world champion Alan Jones, Daniel Ricciardo and Mark Webber the next generation of driver Piastri will be carrying this history which begins in 2026. Piastri recently hit the news earlier in the season when he became the fourth driver since the turbo-hybrid era (2014) to win three races in a row (Sakhir, Jeddah, Miami) a feat only previously accomplished by Hamilton, Rosberg and Verstappen.

Lando Norris vs Oscar Piastri for the Drivers championship?

He is still in full form, at the time of the British Grand Prix at Silverstone, Piastri was the only driver to receive points in all races this season. The regularity and composure under pressure shown by the driver have become the source of admiration of veterans such as Verstappen and ignited the conjecture regarding his championship potential.

McLaren CEO Zak Brown has stressed uncompromised faith on Piastri and Norris asserting that they represent the nucleus of the Luton based flood, where no level of off track speculation about other drivers can equal that of the two. That Piastri is getting a Melbourne grandstand, on top of an already self evident growing influence in Formula 1, is itself illustrative of not merely someone who competes in this sport, but a legend in the making in his native country. Will Piastri be able to capitalize on his breakthrough and make it a world championship? That is the question all the eyes are on as the 2025 season reaches a climax, the climax of the 2025 season is the question on Piastri.
