Lucknow Super Giants’ owner Sanjiv Goenka had gathered some spotlight after the visuals of his animated conversation with Rishabh Pant and Justin Langer had gone viral post the side’s defeat against Delhi Capitals earlier this week. The fans quickly reminded of a similar instance where Goenka was seen having a chat with former skipper KL Rahul after LSG’s loss against SRH in 2024 edition.

But the franchise has rubbed off all the rumours and posted a video on the official X handle where Goenka is seen hugging Rishabh. “Not everything you see is the true story, here’s the unfiltered post-match vibes, when cameras don’t cut,” the caption of the video, shared by LSG, read.

LSG Lose to DC

Lucknow Super Giants started off the IPL 2026 campaign on a losing note as Delhi Capitals defeated the side by 6 wickets. LSG batting unit was rattled by the Capitals bowlers and were eventually bowled out for 141 in 18.4 overs. Lungi Ngidi and T Natrajan picked up three wickets each.

Later, the LSG bowlers did provide some early breakthroughs as Mohammed Shami, Mohsin Khan and Prince Yadav began the proceedings with some fiery spell of bowling and were breathing fire. But Sameer Rizvi and Tristan Stubbs provided the resistance and stitched an unbeaten stand of 119 runs after DC were left tottering at 26/4. Rizvi remained unbeaten at 70 off 47 while Stubbs chipped in with 39* off 32 to see the side home.

“Like our practice sessions before the match, practice matches, so the coaches backed me by saying I will bat at number 4 this season. And you have to play your game according to the situation. Like you played according to the conditions. If you play at a particular venue then you know how to play, our state team plays here. So we have played a lot of matches. So that thing was helping. No sir, as I went, I thought that I will play a little positive approach. But as soon as in the next over, two wickets fell, the situation changed completely. So I tried to talk to Stubbs. He said, let’s take a little time. There are a lot of overs left and the run rate is also down. We should respect the conditions, so we talked and decided that we would play our game,” Rizvi said after the match.

LSG will next face Sunrisers Hyderabad on April 5 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium and would like to get off the mark in the competition.
