The wrestling community has taken action to help Trish, demonstrating the closeness of the mother daughter relationship.
WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus is mourning the death of her mother, Alice Stratigeas, after enduring many months long with cancer. The 49 year old wrestling legend broke the devastating information on Instagram with a candid way in expressing that her heart feels broken and cannot be described and that life will never be the same in the absence of her mother.
Trish talked about how she wished to write about the loss to challenge herself away to forget that the that the law of the parents arose, and about the loss being a reality and being in pain, but denied it affected her much due to the fact that she continued writing about the loss and it made her feel the pain even more. She evocatively described her sorrow in this emotional analysis “It was one of the most difficult things to explain to my children that their Nana would no longer be around.” Her children, who had only known their life to be with their beloved Nana by their side in their lifetime, now have to contend with the foreseeable gap in their lives.
Though Trish mourned a great deal, she made sure to mention how strong her mother was “She has endured so many battles throughout her life with more strength than I was ever capable of imagining and even in times when she was having the worst days she always thought about everyone first,” Trish wrote. She defined the spirit her mother like this, selfless, courageous, undeniably filled to the brim, with love.
The actress had recently canceled a booked appearance at Comic Con in Wales, in order to be by her mother, whose last days were approaching something she saw as a necessity at the time, though fans were dismayed. Her appreciation ended with “Mama, I swear your grandchildren will never ever forget the great woman that their Nana was.” The words of Trish serve as a reminder of how deep mother daughter relationship is and how even during the worst period of grief it can be unbroken. The boldness in what she speaks about so strongly, and so painfully, such a personal experience provides solace, familiarity, and strength to others who have gone through the devastating losses as well.
