Conflicting reports are emerging about the status of Iranian missile arsenal. The Trump administration has claimed that the US forces have completely obliterated the IRGC controlled missile system while the new intelligence reports claim that Iran may still be left with a large cache of the missile arsenal.

US Has Destroyed Only a Third Of Iran’s Missiles, Intelligence Suggests

According to the intelligence reports (Reuters), a third of Iran’s missile and drone arsenal have been destroyed by the US forces within a month. They are aiming to degrade the country’s ballistic missile capabilities.

About a third of Tehran’s missiles have been destroyed, and another third was likely to be damaged or buried in underground tunnels and bunkers, the report suggested.

The report, based on five people familiar with US intelligence, suggests that while most of Iran’s missiles are immediately inaccessible, the country still has a sizeable stockpile.

US Missile Stocks Nearly Empty

The United States launched its war against Iran with full intensity, deploying some of its most advanced and costly weapon systems.

With the war entering its fifth week, chief executive of major German arms manufacturer Rheinmetall, warned global stocks of missile interceptors needed for air defence systems were “nearly empty” as a result of the US-Israel war on Iran.

Analysts believe the strain on weapons supplies could influence how long the conflict continues, as significant gaps have already emerged in high-end munitions reserves.

They predict it could take years for some supplies to be replenished, making US allies “nervous” about the West’s military readiness for other potential conflicts.

Neither Side Backing Down

US President Donald Trump has given Iran several ultimatums, threatening to escalate attacks if a deal to end the war is not reached.

But Tehran has repeatedly rejected the proposals, saying the terms were “unrealistic” and issuing its own threats.
