Israel Attacks Lebanon As President Trump Set To Address The Nation, EU & UK Call For Political Negotiation As Death Toll Hits 1,300

Donald Trump is set to address the nation with an “important update” on the Iran war, as he signals a possible US withdrawal and urges allies to handle the situation. Meanwhile, Israeli strikes on Beirut have escalated regional tensions.

US President Donald Trump is all set to address the nation on the Iran war at 9 PM (Eastern Time), 1st April with an “important update” as per White House Press secretary Karoline Leavitt. 

On 31st March President Trump stated that he expected the Iran was to be over in two to three weeks, he further said that “we’re not going to have anything to do with it.” President said that it wouldn’t affect the United States and would be something for other countries to deal with. 

President Trump said, “They’ll be able to fend for themselves,” he even previously told European allies who have refused US to help in the war that “go get your own oil!” 

Trump told to Britain’s Telegraph in an interview that he was thinking to withdrawing US out of NATO. 

As the US President is going to address regarding the Iran war Israel has airstrike Beirut’s Mediterranean coast which has killed at least seven people as per Lebanon Ministry of Health. 

As per the video footage shared by the local on the social media shows flame shooting up from a residential area of Janh which is near Beirut’s airport. It was one of the seven strikes on Beirut’s outskirts by Tele Aviv. 

Beirut is one of the major front next to Islamic Republic of Iran in the larger West Asian war and conflict there might continue even if the US stopped bombing Iran.

Israel claims that he was attacking the Iran-backed proxy based in Lebanon, Hezbollah. The Iranian proxy started firing missiles in the northern Israel region in early March after the Israel and the US involved in the war with Iran. 

The US-Israel duo has killed more than 1,300 people including civilian and children in Lebanon. The Lebanon Army is moving back from some areas of the country’s south after Israel announced its plan to destroy villages there and create a “buffer zone” to prevent Hezbollah from launching more rockets on Israel. 

EU and UK on Lebanon Attack

The European Union and 10 individual European countries consisting of United Kingdom issued a statement calling for de-escalation. These countries condemned Hezbollah for its attack in support of Iran and called for political negotiation between Lebanon and Israel; they also requested Israel to pause the ground invasion in the region. 

The statement said “We call on Israel to avoid a further widening of the conflict including through a ground operation on Lebanese territory. We strongly reaffirm that the territorial integrity of Lebanon must be respected,”
