West Asia Conflict: Five Indians Among Injured As Missile Debris Falls In Abu Dhabi’s Ajban Area After Air Defence Interception- What We Know

At least 12 people, including five Indians and seven Nepali nationals, were injured after debris from intercepted missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles fell in Abu Dhabi’s Ajban area on Friday, according to the Abu Dhabi Media Office.

While most sustained minor to moderate injuries, one Nepali national was reported to be seriously injured. Authorities have urged the public to remain cautious and rely only on official information amid the ongoing situation.

It said, “As part of the ongoing follow-up to the previously reported incident in the Ajban area caused by falling debris following the successful interception by air defence systems, authorities confirm that the incident has resulted in minor to moderate injuries sustained by 6 individuals of Nepali nationality and 5 individuals of Indian nationality, and one major injury sustained by an individual of Nepali nationality.”

The Abu Dhabi Media Office called the public to remain vigilant and obtain information only from official sources and to avoid spreading rumours or unverified information. Earlier on Friday, Abu Dhabi Media Office had also informed that authorities were responding to the incident of debris falling at the Habshan gas facilities, following interception by air defence systems.

It said that operations had been suspended while authorities respond to a fire and that no injuries were reported.

Meanwhile, Al Jazeera Breaking reported that Iran’s Shahid Beheshti University, Mehrabad airport area were attacked by the US and Israel. It also said that Iran has claimed to have targeted US-linked sites in Kuwait, Bahrain and Jordan.

US President Donald Trump on Friday referred to the Strait of Hormuz as a potential “gusher” for the world and spoken about “opening it for the world. “In a post on his social media platform Truth Social, Trump wrote, “With a little more time, we can easily OPEN THE HORMUZ STRAIT, TAKE THE OIL, & MAKE A FORTUNE. IT WOULD BE A “GUSHER” FOR THE WORLD??? President DONALD J. TRUMP”.

The developments come as the conflict between US-Israel and Iran stands in its second month now.
