Karnataka: 2 murdered in Koppal violence; more than 25 arrested

According to Karnataka Police, more than 25 individuals were arrested in Hulihyder hamlet on Friday in connection with a dispute between two clans.

“More than 25 persons were apprehended in Hulihyder hamlet in connection with Muharram-related violence.” “An investigation is underway,” stated Koppal Superintendent of Police Arunagshu Giri.

The SP further stated that two individuals were killed in an alleged altercation between two communities and promised that those responsible for the violence would be prosecuted.

“We’ll file the cases.” We must learn that two groups reportedly participated in this tragedy, in which two persons perished. “We’ll file an FIR,” he stated.

“We have dispatched the police and requested that Section 144 be imposed on the area for seven days,” he stated.

According to the police, two persons identified, Pasha Walli (22) and Yenakapaa Talavad (60)-died from their injuries at the hospital, while another six people were reported injured in the Thursday incident.

The fight occurred after a Hindu lad went to see a Muslim female on the occasion during a Muharram performance, which sparked an altercation between the two parties.

Following that, members of both communities joined in and began hitting one other, resulting in the violence.
