A bus carrying a wedding party of more than 40 people plummeted down a gorge in Uttarakhand’s Pauri Garhwal Friday night, killing 25 people. Following an overnight operation near Simdi hamlet, the state disaster response force and police rescued a total of 21 passengers.

“Twenty-five individuals were killed in the Pauri Garwhal bus disaster that occurred last night in Dhumakot’s Birokhal district. Overnight, police and the SDRF rescued 21 people; the injured were sent to neighbouring hospitals “Ashok Kumar, the state police chief, informed the news agency ANI.
