7 teachers have been suspended in Karnataka for allegedly allowing the students wearing hijab to appear for class X board examinations.

In the Class 10th Examination which commenced from March 28, 7 teachers have been suspended in Karnataka for allegedly allowing the students wearing hijab to appear for class X board examinations.

Of the suspended teachers, 5 teachers have been identified from the CS Patil Higher Primary School, 1 from Sharana Basaveshwara High school and the other from Bapuji Primary School.

The decision of Karnataka High Court on the ban of Hijab was earlier challenged by a group of students, which later was dismissed by the court stating the case baseless.

This provoked the students to protest against the judgment on Tuesday which resulted to 11 Muslim students withdrawal from the 10th Board examination on Wednesday.
