Kesav Prasad Maurya and Brajesh Pathak, the deputy chief ministers of Uttar Pradesh, have denounced the Adipurush teaser for offending Hindu sensitivities. Narottam Mishra, the home minister for Madhya Pradesh, threatened legal action if the offending portions were not removed.

The head priest of the Ram temple in Ayodhya urged an immediate ban on the film on Wednesday amid the ongoing controversy around the teaser of the Bollywood film Adipurush and the alleged inaccurate portrayal of Lord Ram, Hanuman, and Ravana. He claimed that the way Lord Ram, Hanuman, and Ravana are portrayed violates their dignity because it does not follow the legend. Making a movie is not illegal, but chief priest Satyendra Das stressed that movies shouldn’t be made to intentionally stir up controversy and grab all the attention.

On Sunday, the 1.46-minute preview for the film was released in Ayodhya, sparking controversy.

Kesav Prasad Maurya and Brajesh Pathak, the deputy chief ministers of Uttar Pradesh, denounced the teaser and declared that disrespect for Hindu gods and goddesses will not be permitted. “We should consider what the saints have said. Hindus’ feelings have frequently been harmed by movies. These saints and akharas always defended our culture when it was under attack. Our culture is something we are proud of, Pathak said in a statement.

On Wednesday, Keshav Maurya remarked that while he had not seen the preview, if it had offended religious sensibilities, it should be changed before being shown to the audience.

Malavika Avinash, a BJP spokesman, claimed earlier that the film’s creators did not conduct any study before creating Ravana’s character. “The Ravana in the picture that I frequently see is a man who does not resemble an Indian at all, wears leather jackets, and has blue eye makeup. They are representing our history, so they cannot claim artistic freedom to do so “She spoke. In the film, Prabhas plays Lord Ram, Kriti Sanon plays Sita, and Saif Ali Khan plays Ravana.

The preview was criticised by the Vishva Hindu Parishad, which claimed that the manner Lord Ram, Ravana, and Lakshman have been presented makes Hinduism look foolish. “Hindu society’s values have been mocked. Hindu society won’t put up with this, “Ajay Sharma, according to Prachar Pramukh of the Sambhal unit of the VHP. He continued, “The VHP will not permit this movie to be screened in theatres.

Narottam Mishra, the home minister for Madhya Pradesh, threatened legal action on Tuesday if the pictures depicting Hindu religious leaders incorrectly weren’t taken down. “Hanuman ji is depicted wearing leather, but the description of the deity’s attire (in the scriptures) is different… Religious feelings are wounded by these scenes. I’m asking Om Raut in a letter to cut all of these scenes from the movie. We will contemplate taking legal action if this is not done,” Mishra added.
