A video purportedly showing a Congress MLA in Chhattisgarh allegedly instigating violence during the demonstration against the Centre’s Agnipath military recruiting plan has been forwarded by the BJP to the National Investigation Agency (NIA), which has been urged to take notice.

Vishnu Deo Sai, the leader of the BJP in Chhattisgarh, wrote to the National Probe Agency (NIA) on Tuesday requesting an investigation against Vikram Shah Mandavi, a Congress lawmaker from Bijapur, for allegedly inciting young tribal people to oppose the Agnipath programme. Additionally, he said that a plot was being developed to incite conflict in the state under the guise of the Agnipath project.

“In an effort to incite peaceful tribals to engage in violence, Mandavi, who represents a tribally dominant and Naxal-affected region, made the statement. Clearly anti-national, his behaviour. The NIA should initiate an investigation into Congress’ involvement in the carefully orchestrated violence that took place during the demonstration against Agnipath “Sai sent a letter.

Mandavi allegedly urged the youth to resist the Agnipath military recruiting programme of the Centre in a way like Bihar by torching cars and committing other violent acts.

The Agnipath Scheme, a recruiting programme for Indian youngsters to serve in the Armed Forces, was approved by the Central government on June 17, which was applauded by the three heads of the Indian Defense forces.
