A combined team from CFSL Delhi and Ahmadabad is also investigating whether the AIIMS server attack was launched from outside the country.

According to official sources, different divisions of the Union Home Ministry and the IT Ministry are working to repair and restore systems impacted by the suspected malware assault.

The Delhi Police Special Cell has initiated an inquiry into the suspected malware attack at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Delhi. According to government sources, a team from the Central Forensic Lab (CFSL) has been tasked with inspecting the AIIMS Delhi’s affected server in order to determine the source of the malware assault.

A combined team from CFSL Delhi and Ahmadabad is also investigating whether the attack was launched from outside the country. According to IFSO sources, the Delhi police Intelligence Fusion and Strategic Operations (IFSO) squad, formerly known as the Cyber Prevention Awareness Detection (CyPAD) unit, has also launched a parallel inquiry. “The precise source of the hacking is unknown at this time,” they claimed.

According to official sources, different divisions of the Union Home Ministry and the IT Ministry are working to repair and restore systems impacted by the suspected malware assault.

According to reports, a formal inquiry into how the AIIMS Delhi’s servers were hacked has been launched by Delhi Police, and a team from the National Probe Agency (NIA) has also arrived at AIIMS Delhi and joined the investigation. “The CFSL report is awaiting,” sources said, adding that “the Delhi police would issue an official comment only after the report.”

The AIIMS Delhi reported a server outage on November 23, and the servers have been down since then. Two of the analysts assigned to monitor the security of the servers have also been suspended for the suspected violation of cyber security. In a statement made on Tuesday, AIIMS Delhi officials said that the e-Hospital data had been restored.

“On the servers, the eHospital data has been restored. Before services can be resumed, the network is being cleansed. Due to the volume of data and the vast number of servers/computers for medical services, the procedure is taking some time. Cyber security measures are being implemented “They stated.

“All hospital services, including outpatient, in-patient, labs, and so on, continue to operate on a manual basis,” according to the statement. Internet access at the healthcare centre is still still restricted, as suggested by the investigative agency. AIIMS has also issued a new set of Standard operating procedures (SOP) for admission, discharge, and transfer of patients’ related work, which will be done manually until the eHospital is operational again.
