In a month’s time, The Airport express line of New Delhi is getting extended till Dwarka sec – 25.

The 2 km extension of the Delhi metro till the Dwarka sec – 25 is all set to be operational from the month of September.

The trial runs are in progress from the existing last station – Dwarka sec – 21 to the newly constructed India International Convention Centre station situated in Dwarka sec – 25.

Upon receiving all the statutory clearance, the Commissioner of Metro Rail Safety (CMRS) will inspect the line.
At present, there are six stations in the High speed – Airport Express line corridor starting from New Delhi railway station, Shivaji stadium, DU south campus, Delhi Aerocity, IGI airport (terminal -3), and Dwarka sec – 21. Upon the completion and clearance of the new station, the corridor will stretch to a total of 24.7km.

The construction of the new station started in 2018 and was supposed to be completed by 2021 but got delayed due to the epidemic Covid-19. The cost of constructing this project is ₹310 crore.
