Amit Shah Addresses Passing Out Parade of IPS Probationers and reviews passing out parade of 75th batch of IPS

During his address at the passing out parade of IPS probationers at the National Police Academy in Hyderabad, Home Minister Amit Shah has stressed upon bringing in three new criminal law drafts. These law drafts are set to replace CRPC, IPC and the Evidence Act. The new criminal justice system of the country is set to begin based on these laws, Shah announced.
He mentioned how the three laws have been drafted around the year 1850. The government has made significant changes in the three laws and is putting across the new laws in the Indian Parliament. He said the new laws will be passed in some time.
A meeting of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Home Affairs will also be held to consider and adopt the draft reports on ‘The Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita 2023’, ‘The Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita 2023’ and ‘The Bharatiya Sakshya Bill 2023’. These bills have been introduced in the Lower House of the Parliament on August 11.
Amit Shah has also reviewed the passing out parade of 75th batch of Indian Police Services (IPS) at the SVPNPA earlier. A total of 175 officer trainees, that include 155 IPS officer trainees and 20 foreign officer trainees are slated to take part in this parade.
Out of the 155 IPS officer trainees around 32 are women IPS officers as reported by the Academy Director Amit Garg. Among the foreign officer trainees, six belong to Bhutan, five from Maldives, five from Nepal and four from Mauritius.
