According to the authorities, the police squad from the Bokakhat police station on Monday morning intercepted a truck and recovered and seized 48 calves from the vehicle based on information input regarding the unlawful transportation of cattle. The animals that were confiscated were completely packed in the truck, according to Anita Hazarika, Sub-Divisional Police Officer of Bokakhat in the Golaghat district.
“Numerous livestock were discovered dead and inside the vehicle as it was being searched. When authorities thoroughly searched the car, they discovered 47 dead cattle. The truck driver has been captured, and we are questioning him. From the Bihora market region, the cattle were moved to Samaguri in the Nagaon district.
