Mobile internet services will continue to be suspended near the examination centres during exam hours in order to prevent any untoward incidents as Assam government is prepared to hold the recruitment exam to fill 30,000 government posts in various departments, making it by far the largest recruitment drive in the state.

Tests would draw almost 14 lakh applicants. Within 100 metres of the testing location, internet services won’t be accessible.

Today is the first day of test for Grades III and IV positions. The next two dates are August 28 and September 11.

In specific locations where the exams will be taken, section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code is also being promulgated, in addition to the strict security measures put in place in each exam centre.

To ensure the smooth operation of exams, deputy commissioners and other stakeholders met virtually earlier this week with Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.
