A delegation from the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) on Tuesday came in Patna, Bihar, to look into the tragedy involving the hooch there.
The NHRC team comprises of 9 officials that will look into the unfortunate occurrence that took place last week in Bihar’s Saran district and resulted in the deaths of nearly 60 people who had consumed fake alcohol at a local establishment.
Indignant people yelled abuse at the district authorities and blocked the Masrakh Hanuman Chowk on Bihar State Highway 90 after the killings.
As a result of the occurrence, Nitish Kumar, the chief minister of Bihar, came under fire from opposition politicians in the state parliament for a string of alleged alcohol-related fatalities.
