Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) are at odds over the Enforcement Directorate’s detention of Delhi’s Health Minister Satyendar Jain in a money laundering case (ED).
While AAP leaders struggle to defend Jain and are only playing the blame game, the BJP has gone all out to attack Arvind Kejriwal, accusing him of hiding a corrupt man.
Smriti Irani, a BJP leader and Union Minister, questioned Kejriwal’s silence on her query concerning Jain’s hawala connection on Thursday.
She highlighted the Delhi High Court’s 2019 ruling, which said that Jain was the true owner of the money laundered, based on the findings of the principal commissioner of Income Tax.
Irani in her statement quoted “Despite the fact that the Delhi High Court stated in its judgement that Satyendra Jain shifted Rs 16.39 crore in black money to four shell firms through hawala operators, CM Arvind Kejriwal remains silent on the matter and continues to blame the investigating authorities.”
Kejriwal stated earlier today that he “learnt from credible sources a few months ago that Satyendar Jain was going to be jailed in a phoney case, and now I’ve learned from the same sources that Manish Sisodia is going to be caught in a fake case in the next few days.”
