In the presence of the party’s general secretary, Abhishek Banerjee, Singh joined the party in Kolkata. Banerjee welcomed Singh into the party, saying he rejected the “divisive forces” (BJP) and joined the party.

Singh expressed his dissatisfaction with the BJP’s performance earlier today, saying that the party’s performance in various states, notably Bengal and Kerala, is lacking.
