BSF celebrates ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign at India-Bangladesh border

The 176 Battalion of the BSF, North Bengal Frontiers, celebrated “Har Ghar Tiranga” near the Indo-Bangladesh border as part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations to mark the completion of the 75th year of Independence on Sunday afternoon.

NS Aujla, DIG, BSF, North Bengal Frontiers, Siliguri, explained that “along with BSF jawans, officers, school students, and local villagers, residing very close to the International border were taken out a massive colourful procession, all handed with “Tiranga” on the border roads to motivate the people to their nation.”

DK Pathak, 176 Battalion’s assistant commander, said, “On Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, security is always being monitored. Cameras and technology are set up, and we’re ready to act on input from the intelligence section. The nation is, was, and will continue to be secure. Up until the Army is on patrol, the populace need not worry.”

Prior to recently, Indian people could only raise the National Flag on specific occasions. This changed when Naveen Jindal, an industrialist, won a decade-long legal battle that resulted in the historic Supreme Court ruling of January 23, 2004, which proclaimed that the freedom to fly the national flag with respect and dignity is a fundamental right of an Indian citizen under the terms of Article 19(1)(a) of the Indian Constitution.

Earlier on March 12, 2021, Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’s formal journey was underway, beginning a 75-week countdown to our nation’s 75th anniversary of independence.
