J&K: CBI arrests four including ASI, CRPF constable in recruitment scam

On Monday, CBI detained four people in connection with the Jammu and Kashmir Police Sub-Inspector (JKPSI) Recruitment Scam, including an ASI and a constable of the CRPF.
On Monday, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) detained four people in connection with the Jammu and Kashmir Police Sub-Inspector (JKPSI) Recruitment Scam, including an Assistant Sub-Inspector of Jammu and Kashmir Police and a Constable of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF).
The apprehended suspects have been named as Ashok Kumar, an ASI of the J&K Police, Surender Singh, a CRPF constable, Pradeep Kumar, and Bajinder Singh. They are both private individuals.
In a statement, the CBI stated that they had arrested the then Assistant Sub Inspector of Jammu and Kashmir Police and others, including a CRPF Constable posted at 160 Battalion in the Chatha area of Jammu; the packing incharge of a private company’s printing press; and a private person from Karnal, in connection with the JKPSI recruitment scam.
CBI has so far detained 13 people, including two JK Police constables, one CRPF officer, one ex-CRPF constable, one Jammu and Kashmir Government instructor, one BSF Commandant, and one Jammu and Kashmir Police ASI.
It was found during the investigation that the Packing Incharge of the Printing Press allegedly stole the question paper of the JKPSI examination while the same was being packed and sold the leaked question paper to an accused resident of Rewari who was arrested earlier.
It was further alleged that the accused based in Haryana contacted the other touts based in Jammu and Kashmir to solicit candidates for the sale of the leaked question papers. The touts of Jammu and Kashmir allegedly took the candidates from Jammu to Karnal (Haryana) one day before the examination.
It was further claimed that the aforementioned ASI arranged for automobiles to bring the applicants to Karnal. It was also claimed that the Karnal-based accused went to the hotel to provide leaked question papers to Karnal aspirants. The suspected CRPF Constable distributed leaked exam papers to specific aspirants. The apprehended suspects are being brought before the CJM court in Jammu.
