According to media reports, the increase in coronavirus infections in China is putting a strain on hospitals in Beijing and other large Chinese cities.

Covid-19 has harmed millions of individuals in China since the ‘zero-covid policy’ was relaxed on December 7. Health officials on Friday estimated that the virus had infected 490,000 to 530,000 individuals every day in Qingdao, Shandong Province. There are many Japanese businesses in the city.

Reports claim that the Chinese industrial city of Dongguan in Guangdong Province recorded 250,000 to 300,000 cases on Friday. The situations present medical personnel with an unusual task.

According to a hospital administrator in Beijing, the emergency unit receives roughly 500 people every day. That’s 2.5 times the average amount. Around 20% of them have acquired significant symptoms.

Based on the number of Covid cases, additional Beijing hospitals are establishing makeshift critical care units and expanding the number of beds for patients with severe symptoms.

Earlier this month, Radio Free Asia claimed that Covid-19 may have harmed approximately 250 million people in China in just 20 days when the ‘zero-covid policy’ was relaxed in the first week of the month.
