Delhi reported 8 deaths, the highest in 180 days on Wednesday and 2,146 fresh cases with a positivity rate of 17.83%.

Delhi Government made wearing masks mandatory in Public Places and if not obeyed, a fine of ₹500 is to be imposed on violators.


A notice from the additional district magistrate office of South Delhi states that masks are now required to be worn in all public spaces, and violators would be subject to a fine of 500 rupees. The rule does not apply to the person travelling by private four-wheeler vehicle.Delhi reported 8 deaths, the highest in 180 days on Wednesday and 2,146 fresh cases with a positivity rate of 17.83%.

Delhi government lifted the mask mandate in April but brought it back as Delhi was seeing a spike in Covid cases.

According to media reports, total of 536 coronavirus patients are presently in hospitals, out of whom 161 are in intensive care units. As per media reports, in initial 10 days of August, Delhi registered 40 deaths due to the covid.

Coronavirus cases increased sharply in Mumbai

On Wednesday, Coronavirus cases increased sharply in Mumbai. Since July 1, when the city had 978 cases, the number of cases was highest on Wednesday. For the majority of July, Covid-19 instances in Mumbai were on the decline; but, at the end of the month, they were again on the rise.
