After Gyanvyapi Mosque Controversy, Row on Mathura’s Shahi Idgah Masjid is on its way. The petitioner has asked for sealing the Shahi Idgah Masjid.

The complaint, filed in the Mathura court, seeks to have a mosque built on the instructions of Mughal emperor Aurangzeb in the 13.37-acre grounds of the Katra Keshav Dev temple near Lord Krishna’s birthplace removed.

In the case of Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi and Shahi Idgah Masjid, nine cases have been filed in Mathura court till date. The District Judge has put off making a judgement on a plea in the case. On July 1, the court will make its ruling.

Ranjana Agnihotri, a Lucknow resident, had filed a lawsuit seeking ownership of Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi’s 13.37 acres of property. Agnihotri sued to have the Shahi Idgah mosque built in Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi demolished.

However, according to Civil Judge Senior Division, Mathura, the next hearing on Mahendra Pratap Singh’s plea to seal Shahi Idgah Masjid will be held on July 1.
