COVID-19 immunisation drive in India surpasses 195.35 crore

The Union Government is committed to accelerating and expanding COVID-19 immunisation across the country. The nationwide COVID-19 immunisation programme started on January 16, 2021.

As of 7 a.m. on Tuesday, India’s COVID-19 vaccine coverage had crossed the 195.35 crore (1,95,35,70,360) mark, according to the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

Since the campaign began on March 16, almost 3.52 crore (3,52,45,234) teens in the age group 12-14 have received their first dose of the COVID-19 immunisation, according to the ministry. According to the authorities, the registration of COVID-19 booster doses for those aged 18 to 59 years old began on April 10, 2022, and more than 34,69,795 precaution pills have been distributed.

According to the government, India’s active case count is now at 50,458, accounting for 0.12% of total positive cases, with a recovery rate of 98.67%.

According to official data, 4,035 people have recovered in the previous 24 hours, bringing the total number of recovered patients (from the start of the epidemic) to 4,26,61,370.

In the previous 24 hours, 6,594 new instances were recorded. According to the ministry, the weekly positivity rate in the country is now 2.32 percent, while the daily positivity rate is reported to be 2.05 percent.

In the previous 24 hours, a total of 3,21,873 COVID-19 tests were performed. According to the report, India has performed around 85.54 crores (85,54,30,752) total exams.
