COVID-19: India reports 16,906 new cases, 45 deaths in last 24 hours

The total number of active cases in India has risen to 1,32,457, according to data from the health ministry released on Wednesday.
In the last 24 hours, India recorded 16,906 new cases of the novel coronavirus, as well as 45 deaths from the infection. According to data released by the Union Health Ministry on Wednesday (July 13), the country saw a total of 15,447 discharges in the last 24 hours, bringing the total recovery rate to around 98.50% and total recoveries to 4,30,11,874.
The total number of active COVID-19 cases in India has risen to 1,32,457, according to data from the health ministry released today. The number of active cases registered yesterday was 1,31,043.
In the last 24 hours, the active COVID-19 caseload has increased by 1,414 cases. According to the ministry, active cases account for 0.30 percent of total infections.
The country’s total death toll is now 5,25,519 people. The first death from the COVID pandemic was reported in India in March 2020.
On July 13, the daily positivity rate was 3.68 percent.
According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), 86,77,69,574 samples were tested for COVID-19 as of July 12. On Tuesday, 4,59,302 of these samples were tested.
