In the last 24 hours, India registered 9,062 new cases of Covid-19. According to statistics released by the Union Health Ministry on Wednesday (August 17), the entire recovery rate was about 98.56 percent, with a total recovery data of 4,36,54,064.
The overall number of active COVID-19 cases in India has dropped to 1,05,058, according to statistics from the health ministry released Thursday. There were 1,11,252 active cases recorded yesterday.
A decrease of 6,194 cases has been recorded in the active COVID-19 caseload in a span of 24 hours. The active cases comprise 0.25 per cent of the total infections, the ministry said.
The total death toll in the country is now at 5,27,134. In India, the first death due to the COVID pandemic was reported in March 2020.

The daily positivity rate on August 17 was recorded 2.49 per cent.
According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), 88,10,56,541 samples have been tested up to August 16 for COVID-19. Of these 3,64,038 samples were tested on Tuesday.

India’s Cumulative COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 208.57 Cr. Over 3.98 Cr 1st dose vaccines have been administered for age group 12-14 years.
