Deepak Goyal: An engineering college dropout turns into a successful graphic designer

DesigngiriIndia is a noticeable name for decorating brands to get an exotic and individual identity in their respective industries. The path of becoming a successful graphic designer was not easy for Deepak Goyal, the founder of DesigngiriIndia. In his college days when most of his friends were preparing for getting placements in companies with high salary packages, Mr Goyal was thinking about starting something on his own. In the very first year of his college, he understood that engineering is not his cup of tea after falling 6 times in mathematics.

“I joined the diploma course of graphic designing after struggling almost 3 years with engineering subjects. Here, I learnt skills which give a flight to my imagination”, shared Mr Goyal in his interview.  He started his work from home as a freelancer graphic designer. When he was asked about his first experience in this field, he stated, “I started to promote my work on my Instagram page (DesigngiriIndia) and got appreciation from a lot of people. After getting my first client online, I never look back and keep improving my skills. After a while, I started to get foreign clients who found my work worth giving an attractive payment.” 

Mr Goyal was very happy to share that his family was very much supportive when he thought about doing something different. He was asked to tell something which motivated him to fight and he replied “I don’t think failing in something makes you looser. I never wanted to be a part of the rat race. Love for transforming my ideas into designs is something which always motivated me.” Mr Goyal also experienced criticisms for leaving a high salary paying engineering course to pursue such an offbeat profession. At present DesigngiriIndia has experience of working with more than 300 brands. This company works as a social media agency by designing attractive and appealing logos, flyers, catalogues and websites for brands who want to promote their business through social media platforms.

He became emotional while describing his initial day of struggling when he alone has to complete all the orders spending sleepless nights. He left a message to his fans and all the future entrepreneurs saying, “Don’t lose hope if you are not getting success even after trying several times. There is surely some talent in you which will pay you. Just find that one and start your journey as an entrepreneur.” He started his first salon at Indore in the year 2019 after doing detailed research on his respective field with a few employees. From his interview, it is also known that he along with his friends runs an NGO with more than 450 students for helping poor children to provide education.
