The Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT), along with 50 other trade leaders from Delhi’s top trade organisations, have endorsed Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the forthcoming municipal elections.

The high-stakes elections for Delhi’s 272-ward Municipal Corporation are scheduled for December 4, with results expected on December 7. Local trade groups will launch a “Whispering Campaign” through their members today and tomorrow, in which merchants would urge every client to vote and support the BJP in MCD elections.

The Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) Secretary General, Praveen Khandelwal, held a news conference today to express their support for the party.

Local trade groups will launch a “Whispering Campaign” through their members today and tomorrow, in which merchants would urge every client to vote and support the BJP in the elections.

During the press conference, the trade representatives stated that BJP has worked with merchants on numerous trade-related issues over the previous few years, and that in their 10-point resolution published for the MCD elections, they have vowed to fix the burning concerns in a timely way.

The trade representatives also stated that Delhi traders had paid thousands of crores of rupees in parking and conversion fees, and that the MCD should now prioritise the construction of suitable parking spaces in Delhi.
